Dr. Aziz Pharmacy is hiring a Retail Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in daily operations and patient service. The role is full-time and on-site, with hourly pay based on experience from $19 to $21 per hour.

The candidate will verify prescriptions, maintain patient profiles, handle medications stock, and assist with training new technicians. A high school diploma or GED is required, and Indiana licensure or intern status is preferred.

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• One year or more of retail pharmacy experience preferred.
• National certification is preferred but not required.
• Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.

Responsabilidades

• Assist Pharmacist(s) with daily functions.
• Assist Pharmacist(s) with training of new technicians.
• Receives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy.
• Fills pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions.
• Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of drugs.
• Establishes and maintains patient profiles.
• Answers telephones to discuss or answer patient requests or questions.
• Assists patients at the pharmacy by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
• Receives and stores incoming drug or other related pharmacy supplies.
• Verifies invoices and physical quantities received of incoming items.
• Monitors medications in the pharmaceutical inventory to keep in stock medications current and disposes of outdated medications.
• Works with buyer or purchasing agent to keep medications in stock to acceptable levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

JOB SUMMARY:

Prepares medication under the direction of a pharmacist and assists with related job duties.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITES:

• Assist Pharmacist(s) with daily functions
• Assist Pharmacist(s) with training of new technicians
• Receives and verifies written prescriptions or refill requests for accuracy
• Fills pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions
• Maintains proper storage and ensures necessary security of drugs

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED is required
• Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy
• One year or more of retail pharmacy experience preferred
• National certification is preferred but not required
• Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs
• Must not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Requires the ability to measure and/or count out appropriate quantities of pharmaceuticals
• Requires the ability to operate computer software
• Requires the ability to clean and maintain equipment or work areas
• Requires understanding of basic language and terminologies used in the pharmaceutical field
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Requires excellent customer service skills
• Requires strong mathematical calculation skills
• Requires execution of basic pharmacy technician skills in assigned areas and work under close supervision or under clearly defined procedures

Salary Description

$19-$21/hour
