Job summary

Meijer is seeking a licensed pharmacist to deliver patient-centered pharmaceutical care in a retail environment. You will process prescriptions, verify orders, and provide clinical services while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, inventory management, and adherence to Meijer's standards for quality and safety across our pharmacy team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with licensure as a pharmacist in the applicable state.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to type accurately and maintain organized records.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at service points and promote pharmacy services.
• Input prescription data into the dispensing system and adjudicate claims.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and prepare labels for dispensing.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and drug orders.
• Order medications for the Pharmacy Department and stock shelves.
• Maintain a clean, confidential, organized pharmacy environment.

The position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy promotes patient care. This person must be friendly and provide remarkable customer service to enhance overall patient health.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Level 3

• Interacting with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Maintaining a clean, and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in their respective state if required.
• Successful completion of Meijer Employer based training if licensure is not required in their respective state.
• Completion of Meijer Retrobill training to comply with third party processes.
• Ability to perform CLIA waived tests as part of the Meijer Health Screening Program.
• Provide immunizations to Meijer patients.
