Meijer Inc. seeks a pharmacy team member to interact with patients, promote clinical services, and process prescriptions in a retail setting.

The role focuses on delivering excellent customer service while maintaining accuracy in the dispensing process and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities include inputting data, creating labels, filing insurance claims, inventory management, and coordination with the Pharmacy Department.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
• Retail/community practice experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Proficient typing and data entry skills.
• Neat handwriting and organizational skills.
• Strong prioritization and teamwork abilities.
• Good attendance and reliability.
• Basic math skills for medication counts and totals.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at service points and promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services.
• Input customer and prescription information into the dispensing system.
• Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Retrieve medication from inventory and stock shelves.
• Process paperwork for filling prescriptions and accepting drug orders.
• Order prescription medications for the Pharmacy Department.
• Maintain a clean, orderly pharmacy and protect patient confidentiality.
• Provide friendly, accurate customer service and patient care.
• Ensure compliance with licensure requirements and company training.

The position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy promotes patient care. This person must be friendly and provide remarkable customer service to enhance overall patient health.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Level 2 Interacting with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Maintaining a clean, and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in their respective state if required.
• Successful completion of Meijer Employer based training if licensure is not required in their respective state.
