Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Technician to join our outpatient pharmacy team in Hagerstown, MD. You will support pharmacists by pulling medications, entering data, labeling prescriptions, and ensuring patients receive accurate meds with clear information.

You will assist with inventory, provide friendly customer service at the counter and POS, and participate in programs like curbside pickup and meds-to-beds, while upholding patient safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred.
• Must be registered with Maryland Board of Pharmacy or obtain licensure within 30 days.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to multitask.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Pull medications, enter data, label prescriptions and ensure patients receive correct meds with proper information.
• Prepare and label prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Enter and verify patient and medication data.
• Assist with inventory control and medication ordering.
• Provide excellent customer service at the pharmacy counter and POS.
• Support curbside pickup, meds-to-beds, and specialty pharmacy services.
• Communicate with providers, insurance companies, and other pharmacies.
• Maintain compliance with FDA, DEA, CMS, and Maryland Board of Pharmacy standards.
