Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Level I Pharmacy Technician to support the retail pharmacy team in a high-volume health system environment. The technician will accurately prepare and label medications, fill automated dispensing devices, restock storage, and assist with order replenishments while upholding safety and patient care standards.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and prior pharmacy experience. VA certification within 9 months or intern certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
• Virginia Pharmacy Technician Certification or obtain within 9 months of hire required or Virginia Pharmacy Intern Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers medications to Pyxis stations and ancillary departments and charges for controlled substances.
• Reviews Pyxis discrepancies and reports unresolved issues to supervisor.
• Resolves medication discrepancies by reviewing MARs and patient charts with nurses and pharmacists.
• Prepares and labels medications and supports flow of unit dose packaging and parent processes.
• Maintains department cleanliness and ensures proper operation of equipment and fixtures.
