Job summary

BJC HealthCare, a large nonprofit health system serving Missouri and surrounding regions, is seeking a nationally certified Pharmacy Technician for its Retail 3 role. You will work under a pharmacist, handle data entry, billing, inventory, and advanced compounding while ensuring accuracy and patient-focused service.

The role requires 2-5 years of pharmacy experience, State Board Registration, and Pharmacy Tech Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of pharmacy experience required.
• State Board Pharmacist Registration and Pharmacy Tech Certification required.
• Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles Retail Pharmacy Technician I and II responsibilities: clerical duties, data entry, cash handling and reconciliation, inventory management, advanced compounding and training of new team members.
• Manages patient and internal billing and reconciliation.
• Assumes primary responsibility for a task or area of workflow (purchasing, automation, shipping, or lead technician).
• Responds to insurance audits, handles supply management and bank deposits.

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Retail 3, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, performs all of the level I and II retail technician functions. This position is also responsible for managing billing and reconciliation, assumes primary responsibility for a specific task or function, and completes administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Handles all Retail Pharmacy Technician I and II responsibilities, to include clerical duties, data entry, cash handling & reconciliation, inventory management, advanced compounding and orientation/training of new team members.
• Manages patient & internal billing and reconciliation.
• Assumes primary responsibility for a specific task, function or area of specialty which could include but is not limited to purchasing, automation, shipping, or lead technician for a specific area of workflow.
• Performs administrative responsibilities that include, but are not limited to responding to insurance audits, supply management and bank deposits.
