Qualifications

Assists Retail Pharmacy Operations Manager or System Director of Pharmacy in coordinating activities and functions of the retail pharmacy. Organize pharmacy activities to ensure quality service. Perform scheduling of pharmacy staff. Oversee pharmacy computer systems and billing procedures. Assist the Manager or Director with development and implementation of policies and procedures, QA, and performance standards related to the role of the pharmacy technician. Provide direction to the staff in the daily pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee pharmacy technician staff competencies.
  • Able to perform all duties of a pharmacy technician III job description.
  • Assist the Manager and/or Director in organizing retail pharmacy activities to ensure quality service.
  • Assists the Manager, Director or Pharmacist Team Lead with interviewing, hiring, and orientation schedules.
  • Able to perform all duties of the pharmacy technician III and the Associate Accountant positions. .
  • Partners with associate accountant to ensure daily financial data for monthly reporting to accounting and monitors financial performance.
  • Assists the Manager and/or Director in the implementation of new retail pharmacy startups and business expansion, as necessary.
  • Schedules regular department meetings and completes all appropriate reports in a timely manner.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalentGraduate of a pharmacy technician program preferredMinimum of 3 years of retail pharmacy experience

Certification and Licensure

Illinois Pharmacy Technician Licensure required, if employed in Illinois Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required.

Level of Supervision

Supervises

Directly supervises Pharmacy technicians in partnership with Pharmacist Team Lead. Supervisory responsibilities are conducted in accordance with directives of management, the organization's policies, and applicable laws.
