Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Master’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
• Graduate from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy college.
• Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy.
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• 1 year retail pharmacy experience as pharmacy tech or pharmacist required.
• 5 years retail pharmacy experience as a pharmacist preferred.
• Experience with 340b pharmacy/medication programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications to patients accurately and safely.
• Oversee daily technician duties and workflow in the retail pharmacy.
• Provide expert advice on medication use, interactions, dosages, and side effects.
• Conduct health screenings, immunizations, and wellness services as applicable.

• This position is based within Jefferson Regional Retail Pharmacy

Job Summary:

A retail pharmacist plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry by ensuring the safe and effective distribution of pharmaceutical drugs and medication to patients. This role is responsible for dispensing prescription medications to patients and offering expertise in the safe use of prescriptions. The Pharmacist provides advice on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, conduct health and wellness screenings, provide immunizations, and oversee the medications given to patients. They are responsible for fulfilling prescriptions, overseeing daily technician duties, and offering expert advice to patients on their prescriptions.

Retail Pharmacist Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Master’s Degree in Pharmacy required. Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
• Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• 1 year retail pharmacy experience as pharmacy tech or pharmacist required
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including drug interactions, dosage requirements, and side effects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and reviewing prescriptions.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management software and other technology used for dispensing and managing medication records.
• 5 years retail pharmacy experience as a pharmacist preferred
• Previous 340b pharmacy/medication experience preferred
