Job summary

GENESIS HEALTHCARE SYSTEM in Maysville, OH seeks a licensed pharmacist to interpret prescriptions, dispense medications, and counsel patients. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with laws, and collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy to support store performance.

The role requires Ohio licensure, Doctor of Pharmacy, strong leadership and communication, and proficiency with pharmacy software. Occasional cross-site work may be involved to support operations.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Must hold a current pharmacist license in the State of Ohio.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution and investigative abilities.
• Ability to work well under stress.
• Proficient with pharmacy software systems.

Responsibilities

• Interprets prescriptions and dispenses pharmaceuticals and related devices.
• Reviews patients’ utilization, drug interactions, allergies, dosage and duration; addresses concerns.
• Contacts prescribers for clarifications or unavailable medications.
• Verifies appropriate pharmaceutical agent to the prescription order.
• Calculates doses and prepares compounded prescriptions and IV medications.
• Provides patient education and counseling.
• Supervises technical staff and oversees cash management and workflow.
• Participates in staff orientation and hiring processes.
