Job summary

Food City Pharmacy in Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking a licensed pharmacist to dispense prescribed medications, counsel patients, and promote health education. The role includes supervising staff in the Pharmacy during the manager’s absence and ensuring pricing, safety, and regulatory compliance.

The pharmacist will fill prescriptions, check contents and labels, and maintain patient safety data while improving customer satisfaction. On-site work with competitive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Valid and active state-issued Pharmacist license
• Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g. APhA)
• Experience in a retail pharmacy environment preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and electronically, and ability to follow instructions
• Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and perform routine tasks with daily interaction

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote courteous patient counseling service to customers.
• Fill prescriptions and evaluate for completeness, accuracy and legality.
• Maintain inventory and manage the merchandise ordering to optimize Rx turns.
• Direct duties of department associates when Pharmacy Manager is off.
• Provide training and development to pharmacy staff in required skills.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security and loss prevention policies.
