Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks a Retail Pharmacist to manage pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. You’ll dispense accurately, counsel customers, and oversee staff across locations within the Houston area.

Requirements include a PharmD/BS in Pharmacy and a Texas license, with 2+ years in retail. Travel to multiple locations may be required; competitive hourly pay is offered with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited college.
• Current Texas Pharmacy License.
• Retail pharmacy experience of 2+ years.

• Responsible for achievement of customer service, clinical initiative objectives, financial objectives, and regulatory compliance; adherence to professional practices and policies; management of personnel
• In the absence of the Retail Pharmacy Manager manage the pharmacy personnel, provision of service, inventory, and overall profitability
• Performs all duties of a registered pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers

Primary Responsibilities:

• In the absence of the Retail Pharmacy Manager, manages retail pharmacy operations for designated site and report to the Retail Pharmacy Manager
• Responsible for achievement of customer service, clinical initiative objectives, financial objectives, and regulatory compliance; adherence to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic (KSC) and Kelsey Pharmacy policies and procedures, and management of all assigned personnel including students
• In the absence of the Retail Pharmacy Manager manage the pharmacy personnel, provision of service, inventory, and overall profitability
• Performs all duties of a registered pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers

Required Qualifications:

• BS or Pharm D College of Pharmacy
• Current Texas Pharmacy License
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience
• Ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
• Ability to communicate with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, inform about policies, train, assist with performance appraisals, and approve refunds/expense/returns
• Ability to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems, assist with questions, and recommend products/recommendations
• Ability to accurately process prescriptions within the required amount of time
• Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

• BCLS
• Immunization Certification
• Pharmacy Preceptor Certification
• 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacist-in-charge
• HMO and 3rd party managed care experience
• Ability to write reports (i.e., weekly/monthly, accident/injury, expense, security), maintain logs, complete daily Pharmacy Department personnel work lists, prepare paperwork for bank deposits, complete requisitions, and complete new hire paperwork
• Ability to travel to multiple pharmacy locations

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.00 to $79.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
