Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Counsel patients regarding medications, side effects, drug interactions, and treatment plans
- Review prescriptions for appropriateness, safety, and effectiveness
- Monitor and evaluate patient-specific drug therapy outcomes
- Serve as a trusted medication resource for patients, caregivers, physicians, and clinical staff
- Oversee pharmacy technicians and support daily pharmacy operations
- Maintain accurate medication records and inventory controls
- Promote medication safety and regulatory compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care programs
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
Required
- Active Oregon Pharmacist license or eligibility for Oregon licensure through reciprocity
- Minimum three (3) years of retail pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and pharmacy operations
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- BLS certification within 60 days of hire
Preferred
- Hospital-affiliated retail pharmacy experience
- Community health or integrated healthcare experience
- Board of Pharmacy Licensed Preceptor designation
- Immunization certification or willingness to obtain within 18 months
- Previous inpatient or hospital pharmacy experience
