Job summary

Kern Valley Health District is seeking a licensed pharmacist in California to dispense prescriptions, supervise staff, and manage billing. The role requires accuracy, strong communication, and adherence to regulations.

2-3 days per week, 10 hours per day, with weekend coverage. The position involves supervising clerks and technicians, maintaining records, and coordinating workflow within the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Current and valid California Pharmacy License.

Responsibilities

Job description

Perform all duties required by law in the dispensing of prescriptions. Supervises all ancillary personnel while on duty. Counsels’ patients and /or customers as required. Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or LTC is preferred.

2-3 days per week consisting of 10 hours per day. Hours will include Saturdays and/or Sundays.

• Responsible for ensuring that billing is correct and oversees clerks and technicians in billing as needed.
• Interprets, clarifies, and fills prescription orders with no errors.
• Maintains all records including controlled drugs, inventory, and prescriptions.
• Ensure proper documentation as required by local, state, and Federal regulations.
• Supervises pharmacy technicians and clerks and coordinates workflow.
• Other tasks and duties may be assigned as needed.

• BS in Pharmacy, Pharm D preferred.
