Job summary

Indiana University Health System seeks a full-time Retail Pharmacist in Bloomington, IN. The schedule rotates 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 11am-7pm Monday to Friday with an every 4th weekend commitment (Sat 9am-3pm & Sun 9am-1pm).

The role involves providing comprehensive, value-based medication-related care, collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes, dispensing medications per orders, monitoring therapy, and ensuring regulatory compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• This role requires Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy.
• ASHP- accredited PGY1 or PGY2 residency may be required.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Current Indiana Pharmacist license or eligibility for Indiana licensure.
• Board certification or other specialized training may be required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
• Travel to IU Health facilities may be required.
• Weekend rotations may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Process and dispense medications per order or prescription and monitor therapy.

Description

This is a full-time Retail Pharmacist position located in Bloomington, IN. The schedule for this position rotates between 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, or 11am-7pm Mon-Fri with an every 4th weekend requirement (Sat 9am-3pm & Sun 9am-1pm).

Provides comprehensive, value-based medication-related care to achieve definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life. Acts in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in the shared responsibility for patient medication therapy outcomes. Key job duties may consist of ensuring safety and effectiveness of the medication use process, processing and dispensing medications per order or prescription, medication therapy monitoring, regulatory compliance, maintaining oversight over pharmacist extenders, maintaining the security of medications, and protecting the confidentiality of patient information. Provides medication information support for medical and nursing staff, ensuring continuity of care, and identifies potential challenges and intervenes, if necessary, to medication-related issues.

• Requires Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy prior to 2006.
• Successful completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 or PGY2 residency may be required.
• Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Requires current Indiana Pharmacist license or eligibility for Indiana licensure as a Pharmacist.
• Board certification or other specialized training may be required.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
• May require travel to IU Health facilities.
• May require weekend rotations.
