GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for the Retail Personal Banker role. This is a sales position focused on developing sales and building relationships through promoting deposits, loans, fee-based services, and customer retention. Responsibilities include selling a range of banking products and services, providing specialized care and service, and utilizing consultative sales processes.

Responsible for risk management by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. Achieves results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks within the bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain in-depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Utilize approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and schedule financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic financial solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives in sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and helpfulness.
  9. Own customer issues and answer questions confidently.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and policies.
  11. Participate in loan and bankcard processes, managing sourced loans from application to closing.
  12. Assist with opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  13. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Ability to travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
