Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Austin, TX seeks an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and execute multiple events within our Michaels store, including children’s birthday parties, crafts classes, and other kid-friendly activities. You’ll engage clients aged 4 to 94+, create a fun and creative environment, and demonstrate or guide participants through simple projects.

You’ll deliver friendly customer service, help shoppers, process checks at checkout, enroll customers in rewards and private label

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.

• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects; perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks such as answering emails and making phone calls.
• Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans; ensure client satisfaction.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

Store - AUS-LAKELINE, TXPlan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.**Event Coordination*** Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.* Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.* Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.* Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.* Communicate events with clients and store team members.* Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.* Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.* Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.* Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.* Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.
