Job Description
What is a Retail Parts Pro?
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. Responsibilities include advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. The role involves sourcing from various channels including special order, FDO, second source, etc. It requires in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. This is a full-time position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance
- Perform key holder duties such as task assignment, safety, and opening/closing procedures
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist in store inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
- Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing abilities
- Strong DIY selling skills
Essential Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics
- Effective communication in English (Spanish is a plus)
- Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedures
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience
3-5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability with customer transactions.
Education & Certifications
Must have a valid driver’s license. ASE certification is preferred but not required.
