What is a Retail Parts Pro?

Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role has expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. This role involves advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. The ability to source parts from various channels including special orders, FDO, second sources, etc., is essential. In-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes is required. This position is full-time.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
2. Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
3. Manage DIY services such as battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
4. Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
5. Perform key holder responsibilities including task assignment, safety, and opening/closing duties.

Secondary Responsibilities

1. Assist in store inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
2. Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot, etc.
3. Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

Essential Job Skills

2. Effective communication in English; Spanish is a plus.

5. Successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
6. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
8. Strong organizational skills.
9. Flexibility to work various days, evenings, and weekends.

Prior Experience

3-5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability.

Education, Certifications, Licenses

Must have a valid driver's license. ASE certification is preferred but not required.
