Job summary

What is a Retail Parts Pro?

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts. Responsibilities include advanced identification, troubleshooting, project assistance for DIY customers, and sourcing parts from various channels such as special orders, FDO, or second sources. In-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes is essential. This is a full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and calls
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
  • Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance
  • Key holder responsibilities including task assignment, safety, and opening/closing duties
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Assist in store inventory processes such as truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
  • Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot
  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

Essential Job Skills
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics (engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills in English (Spanish a plus)
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedures
  • Ability to complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment successfully
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience

3-5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability in customer transactions.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • ASE certification preferred but not mandatory
