Job description

Job Title: Retail Parts Pro

What is a Retail Parts Pro?

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts. The Retail Parts Pro excels in identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, sourcing parts from various channels including special orders, FDO, and second sources. In-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes is essential. This is a full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone inquiries
  2. Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
  3. Manage DIY services such as battery installation, testing, wiper installation, etc.
  4. Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance
  5. Perform key holder duties including task management, safety, and store opening/closing
Secondary Responsibilities
  1. Assist with inventory processes like truck put-away, cycle counts, and back stock
  2. Ensure store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, and parking lot
  3. Provide DIY services including battery and wiper installations
Success Factors
  • Friendly communication skills
  • Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently
  • Knowledge of safety procedures
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and store equipment
  • Parts and automotive system knowledge
  • Operation of POS and parts lookup systems
  • Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
  • ASE P2 certification or equivalent
  • Advanced solution and project recommendation skills
  • Advanced parts sourcing and lookup skills
  • Strong DIY sales skills
Essential Job Skills
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.)
  • Effective communication in English; Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedures
  • Complete Parts Knowledge Assessment successfully
  • Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work various days, evenings, and weekends
Prior Experience

3-5 years of automotive parts experience with proven sales ability and customer transaction fulfillment.

Education & Certifications

Must have a valid driver’s license. ASE certification is preferred but not mandatory.
