Overview

At Office Depot Inc., the Retail Team Lead is a part-time role providing “total solutions” to our customers encompassing Products, Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. The Retail Team Lead will build and maintain customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor by utilizing provided training to support sales. The role supports a customer-centric environment, engagement with the local community, and contributes to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values of Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. The Retail Team Lead demonstrates passion for the brand, technology products, furniture, print, and other offerings. They will proactively engage customers to drive sales and assess customer needs to ensure satisfaction.

Through enthusiasm and expertise, the Retail Team Lead will help create a vibrant sales culture, enhance store visual and merchandising standards, manage freight and logistics, and prioritize client satisfaction. The role also involves being a part-time ‘Key Carrier’ and performing Leader on Duty functions, including opening and closing responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Print Sales and Services:
   • Support efficient operation of Print services and drive store sales.
   • Operate and assist with equipment in Print Services to ensure correct and timely order completion.
   • Use communication tools to coordinate services and assist customers throughout the store.
2. Operational Efficiency:
   • Process merchandise accurately, adhere to procedures, and maintain visual standards.
   • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
   • Ensure compliance with policies and support loss prevention efforts.
   • Contribute to sales and profitability through various initiatives.
3. Client Engagement:
   • Enhance customer satisfaction and coach associates accordingly.
   • Support community outreach to retain clients/customers.
   • Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge.
4. External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty:
   • Ensure safety and security during management absence.
   • Perform opening/closing responsibilities, activate/deactivate alarm systems, and manage cash handling and audits.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Sales and/or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with technology.
• Experience in Customer Service and Print Services is desirable.
• Strong selling, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Adaptability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Passion for the brand and continuous personal development.
