Overview

At Office Depot Inc., the Retail Team Lead is a part-time role providing “total solutions” to our customers encompassing Products, Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. The Retail Team Lead will build and maintain customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor through provided training. They will support a customer-centric environment, engage with the local community, and contribute to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values of Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. The role requires a passion for the brand, technology products, furniture, print, and other services/products. The Team Lead will utilize Office Depot Inc.’s sales principles to proactively engage customers, drive sales, and assess customer needs to ensure satisfaction.

Through enthusiasm and expertise, the Retail Team Lead will help create a vibrant sales culture, enhance store standards, manage freight and logistics activities, and prioritize customer satisfaction. The role also includes responsibilities as a ‘Key Carrier’ and possibly performing Leader on Duty functions, including opening and closing the store.

The position may require periodic background checks.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Print Sales and Services:
   • Support efficient operation and drive store sales in Print functions.
   • Operate and assist with equipment, ensure orders are completed correctly and timely.
   • Use communication tools to coordinate customer service within the store.
2. Operational Efficiency:
   • Process merchandise accurately, adhere to procedures, and maintain visual standards.
   • Identify and implement process improvements, support loss prevention.
   • Ensure compliance with policies and support sales and profitability initiatives.
3. Client Engagement:
   • Enhance customer satisfaction, coach and train associates.
   • Support community outreach to retain clients.
   • Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge.
4. External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty:
   • Ensure safety and security during management absence.
   • Perform opening/closing duties, monitor KPIs, manage alarm systems.
   • Assist with cash handling and audits as needed.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years related experience.
• Sales and/or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt, process information through POS systems, and focus on quality.
• Passion for the brand and a desire for continuous development.
