Overview

As a Part Time Retail Store Associate at Office Depot, your role is vital to our success. You'll engage with customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, creating a positive shopping experience while driving sales.

As a Store Associate, you will actively connect with customers, address their needs by recommending products, services, and solutions to enhance their experience. You will help create and nurture a vibrant sales culture, enhance store visual and merchandising standards, and support freight and logistics activities, all while prioritizing customer satisfaction. You will support a customer-centric environment, engage with the local community, and contribute to a positive culture aligned with Office Depot's 5C values: Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. Additionally, as an entry-level Store Associate, you will be trained in technology and print products/services to assist customers effectively. You will apply sales principles to create satisfying customer interactions, contributing to business growth.

We believe the Store Associate role is essential in driving store success through inspiring sales and exceptional service, especially in Print and Technology. The ideal candidate should be passionate about sales, delivering excellent service, and operational excellence.

The essential functions of this position may require periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third-party.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Customer Centric Experience:
   • Support a positive customer experience by proactively acknowledging and engaging every customer.
   • Utilize and understand the selling program to promote solutions and additional products/services.
   • Be aware of advertisements, promotions, sales, and loyalty programs.
2. Store Operations Commitment:
   • Maintain store and print department appearance according to guidelines.
   • Adhere to standards related to signage, labeling, and merchandise presentation.
   • Follow sorting and stocking guidelines, complete freight processes.
   • Organize freight sorting areas as per guidelines.
   • Investigate and fill inventory lows and outs daily.
3. Print and Tech Expertise:
   • Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge through provided training, including Tech and Print.
   • Pursue continued education and certifications as required.
4. Sales Techniques:
   • Ensure compliance with policies and support loss prevention efforts.
   • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No previous experience required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to access information.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, count, and write for documentation and inventory.
• Client-focused, positive, engaging, action-oriented, passionate about the brand and products.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
