Job summary

Hersheypark is seeking a Part-Time Team Member to serve as a Department Manager on Duty (MOD) during the operating season. The role focuses on overseeing staff, ensuring SOP adherence, delivering exceptional guest service, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities include inventory management, audits, scheduling, training, and supporting leadership tasks. Outdoor work is required, with a flexible schedule up to 36 hours per week across Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of applying.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in Retail operations.
• Knowledge of Child Labor Law regulations is a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Managers with inventory tasks and ensure locations are stocked.
• Conduct audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Support with PAMs, Legacy Checks and Outstanding Employee Program.

• Assist with daily operating paperwork and scheduling.
• Provide exceptional guest service and engage with guests.
• Work in alternate areas as needed to support operations.
• Handle cashier resets and POS duties when necessary.

Hersheypark amusement park spans 121 acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

During the Hersheypark operating season, this part-time position will serve as a departmental Manager on Duty (MOD). Duties include but are not limited to ensuring employees are on task, following all departmental Standard Operating Procedures, providing exceptional guest service to customers, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Serve as department MOD, including attending MOD meetings, daily oversight of employees, responding to guest service calls, and conducting walkthroughs of locations
• Assist Managers and Sr. Supervisors in inventory management tasks, ensuring locations are cleaned, fully stocked and ready for operation. This may include moving inventory from warehouse to retail locations, and moving inventory between locations.
• Ensure team members are accurately scanning to maintain inventory integrity. Perform audits, cycle counts, and other inventory tasks as needed to ensure accuracy
• Assist with various accountability tasks in the department including but not limited to the creation and distribution of PAMs and Legacy Checks and leading the Outstanding Employee Program in partnership with Managers
• Conduct employee training as necessary, provide supervision and support to the team, coach employees when needed, and conduct follow-up training when necessary
• Assist with daily operating paperwork to include break schedules, staffing adjustment sheets, and timesheets
• Actively engage with guests in order to provide exceptional customer service to enhance their overall experience
• Work in alternate areas or as a front-line team member in support of operational needs
• Perform elevated responsibilities like guest returns, price overrides, logging on or off/ point-of-sale systems as well as performing cashier resets at the end of shifts. Assist with various leadership tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of applying
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in Retail operations

• Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times
• Must be able to perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Must be friendly, upbeat, work well with other employees, and be able to interact with our guests in a fast-paced environment
• Must have strong conflict-resolution/problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Child Labor Law regulations
• Must be able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments
• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
• Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

Job Demands

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule of up to 36 hours per week Memorial Day through Labor Day including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.
• Physical requirements include the ability to stand (for up to eight hours at a time), walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above sh ulder level, and lift up to sixty (60) pounds without assistance
