Job summary

Kavaliro is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of the retail store and pro shop, delivering an outstanding customer experience while leading the team and driving sales performance.

The role emphasizes recruiting and developing staff, creating schedules, coaching, inventory control, merchandising, and executing promotions and events to grow the business. This position requires hockey equipment knowledge and strong leadership to sustain a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership in a retail management environment.
• 2+ years in sports retail; hockey/skating industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of hockey equipment and passion for hockey/figure skating.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with retail point‑of‑sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Supervise receiving, stocking, and organization of merchandise in store and stockroom.
• Maintain inventory records through cycle counts and inventory control processes.
• Create visually appealing product displays to maximize sales opportunities.
• Support pricing updates, merchandising displays, and seasonal initiatives.
• Ensure a welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional shopping experience for every customer.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly while building long‑term relationships.

• Two or more years of experience in sports retail, with hockey or skating industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of hockey equipment and a genuine passion for hockey and/or figure skating.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams.
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing inventory, merchandising, and overall store presentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with retail point‑of‑sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
