Job summary

Staples is seeking a Merchandising & Inventory Supervisor to support sales floor merchandising, signage standards, and inventory management. The role involves coaching staff, customer service, and operating in a fast-paced retail setting.

Full-time, permanent position with benefits and opportunities for interview scheduling after application. Responsibilities include inventory controls, planograms, truck unloading, stock maintenance, and acting as Manager on Duty when scheduled.

Qualifications

• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs.
• Has a clear understanding of merchandising and retail operations.
• Experience managing and coaching a team and/or supervising others.
• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs.
• Ability to multitask effectively with limited or no supervision; manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and efficient inventory controls: Zero Balance, Return to Vendor, Cross Channel Returns, Reserve online pick up in store.
• Execute all product activities including truck unloading, sorting, stocking, and maintaining stock levels.
• Execute Weekly Planograms and seasonal promo merchandising changeover.
• Understand and utilize basic selling skills to engage customers and present solutions.
• Provide an inviting environment for customers by keeping a neat store.
• Perform front end responsibilities such as cashier, returns, and online reservations.
• Provide store leadership when scheduled as the Manager on Duty.

Essential skills and experience:

Ability to lift, push or pull materials in the 100-pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously

Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner

Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

Preferred but not required: key holder experience within a retail environment
