Job summary

Staples is seeking Merchandising & Inventory Supervisors to help ensure accurate stock levels, effective signage, and exceptional customer service on the Sales Floor. You will coach a team, execute planograms, manage back-room operations, and maintain the inviting store environment.

This full-time role offers a collaborative retail culture and opportunities for development. Applicants should be able to lift up to 100 pounds, work flexible hours, and lead when the Manager on Duty is scheduled.

• Preferred: key holder experience.

Responsibilities

• Process inventory controls: Zero Balance, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, Cross Channel Returns, Reserve online pick up in store.
• Execute product activities including truck unloading, sorting, stocking, and maintaining stock levels.
• Execute weekly planograms and seasonal merchandising changes.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Engage customers with selling skills and present solutions.
• Maintain a neat, clean, inviting store environment.
• Perform front-end duties: cashier, returns, online reservations.
• Provide store leadership when scheduled as Manager on Duty.
• Be flexible to perform other duties as assigned.

Play a central role in helping your store, your people and your customers win.

• Process accurate and efficient inventory controls: Zero Balance, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, Cross Channel Returns, Reserve online pick up in store

• Execute all product activities including truck unloading, sorting, stocking, and maintaining stock levels

Essential skills and experience:

• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs

• Has a clear understanding of merchandising and retail operations

• Experience managing and coaching a team and/or supervising others

• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs

• Ability to handle many priorities and to multitask effectively with limited or no supervision

• Ability to lift, push or pull materials in the 100-pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously

• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment

• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner

• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

• Preferred but not required: key holder experience within a retail environment
