The Manager in Training assists with planning, merchandising, and staffing, and may act as Store Manager in their absence. This hourly, non-exempt position reports to the Store Manager in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
• Direct staff to ensure every department’s responsibilities and standards are met.
