Job summary

HHS is seeking an experienced cafe manager to lead the Bon Secours St Vincent Medical Center retail food service operation. In this on-site role, you will manage day-to-day cafe operations, drive sales, and develop a high-performing team dedicated to service excellence.

You will oversee recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance coaching, while maintaining compliance with hospital standards and cash handling policies. A strong background in retail food service and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum associate’s degree; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of retail food experience in quick-serve, supermarket or fine dining.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Cash handling policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with POS/register systems.
• Knowledge of hospital food service operations.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and ordering platforms.
• Willingness to relocate for promotion opportunities.
• Spanish language skills a plus.
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or willingness to obtain within 18 months.

We’re looking for a friendly, compassionate, leader to join our culinary team! Manage the day-to-day operations of a retail environment to create a profitable cafe where hard-working hospital staff and families of patients can take a break and enjoy a nice meal. Lead a goal-oriented retail food service department to create a team environment that is effective, productive, and rewarding.

Responsibilities

• Manage the cafe retail area to provide excellent customer service and support revenue growth
• Provide leadership that supports a team environment that fosters morale, passion, quality, and respect
• Develop and monitor evaluation processes for customer satisfaction
• Demonstrate continuous ability to maintain and/or improve customer satisfaction through communication, integrity, and performance
• Lead retail team member recruiting, training, development, scheduling, and assignments
• Perform daily inspections and assessments and coach and counsel team members
• Manage and monitor all department sales and costs

Requirements

• 3+ years of management
• Experience with cash handling policies and procedures
• Familiarity with various point of sales (POS)/register systems
• Knowledge of hospital food service operations
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and ordering platforms
• Must be willing to relocate for promotion opportunities
• Not Required But a Big Plus Proficiency in languages other than English, especially Spanish
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), or willingness to obtain certification within 18 months
