Job summary

Ross Stores in Pleasant Hill, CA is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to help maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and Associates while deterring theft. You will work closely with Store Leadership to implement loss prevention initiatives, monitor alarms, and assist with safety training.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
• Greet customers with eye contact and courteous demeanor at entrances and on the floor.
• Monitor for safety issues and ensure compliance with loss prevention policies.
• Remove clutter and ensure clear egress to emergency exits.
• Provide excellent customer service with friendly greetings and helpful questions.
• Treat customers and associates with respect.
• Recognize associates using company programs.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners; participate in meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned to support Loss Prevention initiatives.
• Represent and support the company brand at all times.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sales floor for theft indicators.
• Gather theft indicators and communicate with leadership.
• Adhere to policy for external theft response.
• Execute best practices and maximize productivity.
• Increase store awareness to minimize shortage and train staff.
• Observe and validate proper checkout procedures.
