Boscov's Department Store, LLC is seeking a Retail Loss Prevention Detective to join our Loss Prevention team. You will leverage loss prevention expertise to reduce profitability losses in a dynamic retail setting, ensuring a secure store environment for customers and employees.

The role focuses on guarding and monitoring, conducting safety procedures, and supporting police with shoplifting apprehensions, while maintaining strong communication with store teams.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills and the interpersonal abilities to work with customers, management, and coworkers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Prior experience in retail loss prevention is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guard, patrol, and monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or policy violations.
• Provide loss prevention support through policies and personal involvement.
• Assist with store opening/closing procedures and safety inspections.
• Assist police with apprehensions of shoplifters and conduct insurance investigations.

Job Responsibilities

As a Loss Prevention Detective, you will perform loss prevention as part of the retail operations team. You will be responsible for guarding, patrolling, and monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules.

Additional Responsibilities Of The Detective Include

• Providing loss prevention support and awareness through policies, procedures, and personal involvement
• Providing surveillance and assisting police with apprehensions of shoplifters
• Conducting store opening and closing procedures
• Performing safety audits, safety, and fire prevention and inspections
• Answering alarm responses
• Performing insurance inspections and investigations

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for the Detective role should have effective communication skills and the interpersonal skills required to work with customers, management, and coworkers. Someone who has strong analytical and problem solving skills and is looking for a challenging opportunity working in a dynamic retail environment would be a good fit for this retail operations role.
