Job summary

Simon Property Group seeks a retail leasing professional to cultivate prospective tenants, negotiate lease terms, and manage market analyses from our Kansas-based centers.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Legal, preparing lease documentation, and developing leasing plans while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and overseeing annual budget preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• 2-4 years retail leasing/selling experience.
• Working knowledge of merchandising mix and retailing.
• Working knowledge of deal structures and lease terminology.
• Negotiation and closing skills.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment.

• Respond to retailer inquiries and qualify potential tenants by reviewing financial statements and checking references.
• Negotiate lease terms, including space, rent, lease term, extra charges, construction allowances, and related items.
• Coordinate with Legal to prepare lease documentation and initiate tenant-space preparation.
• Canvass markets, visit retail facilities, contact retailers, and monitor industry publications and trends.
• Develop leasing plans for new centers and determine rent, charges, tenant mix, space locations, and traffic-flow considerations.
• Attend leasing conventions and industry events to represent Simon Property Group and identify potential tenants.
• Report leasing activity status to partners, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare annual center-based budgets for senior management review and approval.

• Evaluate retailers, merchandise mix, price points, service levels, store design, and appearance
• Maintain records of potential tenants and assist Mall Managers with filling vacant spaces
• Develop leasing plans for new centers and determine rent, charges, tenant mix, space locations, and traffic-flow considerations
• Attend leasing conventions and industry events to represent Simon Property Group and identify potential tenants
• Report leasing activity status to partners, lenders, and other stakeholders
• Prepare annual center-based budgets for senior management review and approval
