Job summary

Big Sandy Superstore is seeking a General Manager I to lead a high-performing team in a fast-growing Home Furnishings Retail environment. You will drive sales, train staff, and ensure an exceptional guest experience while reporting to the Regional Manager.

This role requires a 48-hour weekly schedule, strong leadership, and a passion for customer service. The organization offers ESOP, health/dental/vision insurance, 401K, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a customer satisfaction environment preferred.
• Previous retail management/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example selling to customers and learn the General Manager role.
• Work a minimum of a 48 hour weekly retail schedule.
• Effectively and efficiently assist with managing the sales team and new hires.
• Provide training and set goals for sales team.
• Create an extraordinary experience for our guests.
• Support the store's Management Team whenever needed and fulfill their duties as necessary.
• Great communication with the store's Management Team regarding performance.
• Conduct morning and afternoon huddle meetings with an agenda to motivate and educate sales professionals.
• Focus on driving sales including all steps of the sales process.
• Coach sales professionals in a one-on-one setting to improve the sales process.
• Shadow sales professionals to ensure compliance with the sales process.
• Debrief sales professionals after interactions to identify improvements.
• Set individual goals for sales professionals and communicate progress.
• Maintain staffing levels and collaborate with Corporate HR to build a strong team.
• Travel as required and learn the store’s operations.
