Job summary

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Inc. is seeking a Retail Freight Manager in Indianapolis, IN to oversee receiving and freight flow. You will plan and unload shipments, verify merchandise, and ensure accurate displays while maintaining a safe dock area.

Responsibilities include directing freight operations, mentoring associates, and serving as Manager on Duty, including opening and closing duties. Prior retail experience and flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer.
• Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks within strict timeframes and deadlines.
• Must have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates.

• Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments.
• Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments.
• Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area while maintaining equipment and a safe, orderly dock and exterior.
• Adhere to company standards and confirm the accuracy of all incoming merchandise and set up displays.
• Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight flow processes.
• Act as Manager on Duty and perform store opening/closing and related duties.

The Retail Freight Manager will assist in the efficient operation and maintenance of the receiving area. Responsibilities include the accurate, efficient, and timely execution of freight flow to the sales floor in accordance with established processing and visual merchandising standards. Maintain back stock in the receiving area and manage the disposition of damaged goods to minimize profit loss.

Primary Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty and complete any additional responsibilities as assigned including opening and closing of the store.
