Job summary

Publicis Sapient in Chicago is seeking a Retail Enterprise Architect to design and implement scalable enterprise solutions. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define architecture roadmaps and ensure alignment with business objectives across cloud, on‑prem, and edge environments.

The role requires senior leadership to drive architecture governance, mentoring across teams, and delivering secure, scalable, payment-enabled store systems.

Qualifications

• Senior hands-on leadership in enterprise/solution/software architecture.
• Experience modernizing complex, business-critical platforms.
• Retail, restaurant, hospitality, or distributed store systems background.
• Ability to decompose monoliths into modular/microservices architectures.
• Experience across cloud/on-prem/hybrid/edge environments.
• Strong API, event-driven, distributed systems, messaging patterns.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of containers, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, observability, DevOps.
• Experience integrating payment terminals or hardware with enterprise apps.
• Familiarity with payment security, privacy, and ops requirements.
• Ability to lead design reviews, governance, PoCs, risk assessments.
• Mentor architects/engineers across multiple teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities
