Job summary

Dylan Green is seeking a Manager of Retail Energy Accounting for a technology-driven energy company focused on optimizing renewable energy and grid-scale battery operations through data analytics. In this role you will oversee accounting operations for the retail business, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.

Strong ERP and Excel skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred but not required.
• At least 8 years of accounting experience in the retail energy sector.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP platforms and financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite).
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to work in Houston, TX (3 days in office per week).

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and prepare financial reports for the retail business.
• Process customer payments, track revenue, and support monthly P&L reporting.
• Reconcile payroll, benefits, and related entries with payroll/PEO platforms.
• Review AR/AP balances, identify discrepancies, and improve workflows.
• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Record broker commissions and reconcile energy trading activity.
• Coordinate tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Assist cash flow forecasting and vendor information returns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on customer receipts and disbursements.
• Support special accounting projects as needed.
