Ashley Furniture co. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Retail Distribution Center Box Delivery Driver to deliver products to customer homes and facilities, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and professional communication.

You will load and unload trucks, inspect items, follow policies, and maintain a clean warehouse area while providing excellent service and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Clean driving record; minimum 3 years driving experience.
• No CDL required.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to pass a DOT physical exam.
• 1 year driving experience and driving certification class including a road test.
• Strong attention to detail and solid communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle products safely.
• Conduct physical inspection of product for damages and perform touch-ups as needed.
• Place products in designated storage areas safely.
• Prepare and load customer delivery trucks.
• Unload and safely place products in customer homes.
• Understand and comply with store policies and procedures.
• Remove packaging materials from locations.
• Communicate customer concerns to Warehouse Support and to Customer Service.
• May complete shipping/receiving paperwork and DOT paperwork.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse area and a professional image.
• Assist with vehicle inspection, routine maintenance and fueling at approved locations.
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.

Summary

The Home Delivery Driver plays a crucial role in delivering products to designated locations. To excel in this position, the driver needs to prioritize efficiency, effectiveness, and safety throughout the delivery process. Additionally, the driver should consistently provide exceptional customer service by demonstrating quality workmanship and clear, professional communication. By adhering to these standards, the Home Delivery Driver can ensure a positive experience for both the customer and the company.

Primary Job Functions

This section describes the primary /essential responsibilities that this job performs.

• Handle products safely.


• Conduct physical inspection of product to identify damages goods, perform touch- up and repair as needed on product.


• Place products in designated storage areas safely.


• Prepare and load customer delivery trucks.


• Unload and safely place products in customer home.


• Understand and comply with all store policies and procedures.


• Remove all the packaging materials from the location.


• Communicationand documentscustomerconcerns toWarehouse Support.


• Communicates credit, damage and essential information to the Customer Service Department.


• May be required to complete shipping/ receiving paperwork


• May be required to complete Department of Transportation paperwork.


• Maintains a clean and organized warehouse area.


• Maintain a professional image.


• Assist driver as needed with vehicle inspection, routine maintenance and fueling of vehicle at approved locations.


• Completes other assignments and special projects as requested.

Job Qualifications

Education:

• High School, Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Clean Driving record - 3 years


• NO CDL needed


• Must be 21 years of age


• Department of Transportation physical examination


• 1 year driving experience


• Driving certification class, including a road evaluation test
