Job summary

ActionLink seeks a Part-Time Retail Merchandiser to cover Washington, DC 20010 and surrounding areas. You will visit retailers to set up and maintain product displays across electronics, appliances, and more.

This role offers 10–25 hours per week, with potential up to 40 hours; schedule is weekdays 8am–5pm with no weekends. Must be tech-ready, have a laptop, a vehicle, and basic hand tools for on-site setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in merchandising and retail environments.
• Ability to follow complex display diagrams and instructions.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory and to work weekdays.

Responsibilities

• Visit major retail stores within the territory to set up and maintain product displays.
• Submit digital surveys with feedback and photos after each store visit.
• Ensure proper placement, assembly and troubleshooting of displays for partners.

Enhance the Retail Experience, One Display at a Time!

• Store Visits: Complete projects at major retail stores within an assigned territory to represent our clients’ brands by setting up and maintaining a wide variety of their products –you’d be working with anything from HD TVs and home theater equipment; small and large home appliances; tablets & laptops; gaming consoles; home audio; and more!
• Purpose:Ensure proper placement, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of promotional product displays
• Clients:Represent global clients such as Microsoft, Samsung, T-Mobile, Dyson, Bose, and Intel
• Scheduling:Up tohours will vary, typically between 10 - 25 hours. May be as much as 40 hours on occasion per week, availability required Weekdays, M-W preferred. Work between 8am - 5pm. No weekends/evenings
• Additional Opportunities:Potential for more hours if covering larger regions or traveling.
• Reporting:Submit same-day digital surveys with feedback and pictures for each store visit
• Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have regular access to a laptop or desktop computer for training and downloading updated for projects (mobile devices are not compatible).
  • Must be willing to check email daily, as well as return all communications within 24 hours.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
  • Must have access to basic hand tools (ie. screwdrivers, mallet, pliers, box cutter, dust cloth, zip ties, tape measure, cordless drill and bits, Allen wrenches, safety glasses, socket set).

• Experience:Previous merchandising, 3PL, or relevant retail experience is highly desirable
• Versatility:Handle all levels of merchandising work within assigned territory
• Attention to Detail:Follow complex written instructions and display diagrams
• Independence and Teamwork:Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a small team when needed
• Tech-ready: Internet access, basic hand-held tools, and a Wi-Fi/GPS enabled smart device with latest OS update. Laptop/desktop access is a plus
• Travel Ability:Must have driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle and will be required to use their vehicle to perform the responsibilities of the role.

• Physical Ability:Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift products weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
