Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to help customers, stock shelves, build displays, and operate the cash wrap. You will unload trucks, restock, and maintain plan-o-grams while upholding safety and company policies.

You will greet customers, assist with locating merchandise, and process transactions at the register. This role requires basic math, good communication, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds throughout a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills; ability to operate IBM cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate/face items on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays.
