Weis Markets is seeking a Retail Crime Investigator to support our Asset Protection team. The role involves investigating external theft, gathering intelligence, and coordinating with law enforcement across multiple locations.

You will work with store management to protect company assets and ensure security during evenings, weekends, and potential overnights. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field and at least one year of retail loss prevention

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Business, or related field preferred, plus one year retail loss prevention experience.
• Willingness to travel between locations within the assigned area.
• Strong analytical, communication, and investigative skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve external theft (Shoplifting, Organized Retail Crime, etc.).
• Gathers, analyzes, and evaluates intelligence on individuals and groups involved in organizational retail crime.
• Document information thoroughly to aid in prosecution and investigations.
• Operate the store CCTV system and conduct undercover surveillances as needed.
• Act as liaison between Weis Markets and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
• Represent Weis Markets professionally in court hearings and mediations.

Refers cases to law enforcement for prosecution.* Professionally represent Weis Markets in court hearings and mediations.* Effectively manage time and scheduling to best suit the company's needs including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights.* Travel to multiple locations within an assigned area and provide investigative support.* Partners with Store Management and associates to best protect the company assets.* Supports stores in cases of significant business disruptions (robbery, protests, natural disasters, etc.).**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**This position does not directly supervise associates.**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
