MERS Missouri Goodwill in Cape Girardeau is seeking a Retail Collectibles Captain - Processing Associate to join the Cape Girardeau Store - Silver Springs team. Responsibilities

• Handle all donations with care and respect.
• Identify high-value, unique, vintage, antique, or collectible items for online marketplaces.
• Decide if items are complete and test functionality; send items worth $30+ to E-Commerce.
• Select high value housewares, manifest, and place items for transport.
• Photograph textiles and list with AI tools; ensure listings have accurate descriptions.
• Produce high-quality photographs showing features and flaws as applicable.
• Prepare and clean the production station before and after shifts.
• Maintain high quality and quotas while working quickly and steadily.
• Provide positive customer service in-person and over the phone; keep store clean.
• Build relationships with team members and leadership; assist cross-functionally.
• Monthly training to learn high-value item selection for E-Commerce.
• Follow safe work practices and keep walkways debris-free.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets; report theft or loss.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to move throughout the facility. Lift 25 pounds, push and pull loads of 100+ pounds. Full range of motion, bending-lifting-twisting-pulling-and pushing. Ability to stand for up to 4 hours and use warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies to move products in extreme temperatures.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

· Handle all donations with care and respect.

· Identify high-value, unique, vintage, antique, or collectible items to be sold through online marketplaces.

· Make an initial decision if the item is complete and free of significant cosmetic or physical damage and test functionality. Items worth $30 or more should be sent to E-Commerce.

· Select housewares of high value, manifest, and place selected items in tote for transport.

· Photograph textiles, then list with the assistance of AI tools with our online listing program (if applicable).

· Produce quality photographs that highlight the textiles. Photographs should be taken from multiple angles and give a visual overview of all critical features, distinguishable markings/tags, or potential flaws (if applicable)..

· Write product listings with detailed and accurate descriptions with the assistance of AI tools. List products with no typographical or spelling errors.

· Prepare the production station before and clean the station after every shift.

· Maintain high quality and high quantity standards and quotas while working quickly and steadily.

· Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assistance, and thanks, to in-person customers, donors, and those over the phone. Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.

· Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.

· Will be assigned monthly training to learn how to select high value item for E-Commerce. Assist team by educating staff of high value donations for E-Commerce.

· Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.

· Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.

· Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.

· Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, retail procedures, safety and security regulations.

· All other duties as assigned.
