Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Store Clerk to inventory, stock, and ring up merchandise in our Alaska retail location. You will maintain displays, process transactions, and help customers with friendly service.

The role requires basic English, cash handling, and math skills; physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds; prior retail experience preferred. Benefits include housing options in some assignments. Employment policies comply with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, write and speak basic English. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to accurately conduct cash transactions using American money.

Responsibilities

• Takes inventory or examines merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.
• Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received.
• Stamps, attaches, or changes price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
• Stocks storage areas and displays with new or transferred merchandise.
• Sets up advertising signs and displays merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales.
• Cleans display cases, shelves, and aisles.
• Itemizes and totals customer merchandise selection at checkout counter and accepts cash or charge card for purchases, gives accurate change.
• Packs customer purchases in bags or cartons.
• Maintains accurate cash balance in till, may count and reconcile till as requested.
