Responsibilities

• Interpret and accurately enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Prepare medications for dispensing including accurate labeling and documentation under pharmacist supervision.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials and safety practices.
• Bill third party insurance plans accurately and resolve rejected claims promptly.
• Understand roles of technicians and clerks; perform clerk duties when needed.
• Provide excellent customer service in person and on the telephone.
• Maintain and organize pharmacy inventory; stock areas and remove outdated meds.
• Maintain narcotics control data and process MARs.
• Keep the pharmacy clean and report equipment failures to supervisor.
• Contribute to policy improvements and participate in projects for department development.
• Maintain National Certification.
