Job Description

The Encore Boston Harbor Retail Cashier - Retail will be responsible for ongoing coordination within the Retail Department. Responsibilities include greeting customers, conducting cash register transactions, gift wrapping, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting guests with their needs. This involves maintaining processes, scheduling, supporting team members, and maximizing departmental success while ensuring excellent guest and team member experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Implement and uphold Encore Boston Harbor’s core values and standards.
  • Participate in departmental goals, policies, and procedures; monitor effectiveness and suggest improvements.
  • Contribute to departmental performance, maintain policies and procedures, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Enforce internal policies, laws, rules, and regulations property-wide.
  • Deliver high levels of service and satisfaction across the property.
  • Support company communication and best practices.
  • Stay informed of departmental developments.
  • Manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in high-pressure situations.
  • Facilitate retail sales and assist customers.
  • Operate cash register and handle cash transactions.
  • Maintain merchandise and customer areas.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Follow procedures for gift-wrapping and merchandising.
  • Assist other departments as needed for hotel guests.
  • Prioritize safety and adhere to safety standards.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and support other outlets as needed.

Age, Gaming, and Certifications

Must be 21 or older and obtain/maintain registration or a license from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or related experience preferred. Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Experience in luxury resort or retail is a plus.

Language Skills

Ability to read, interpret documents, respond to inquiries, and communicate effectively in English; second language is a plus.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning

Ability to perform basic calculations and interpret reports.

Physical Demands

Requires talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment
  • Moderate to loud noise levels; interaction with guests and staff.
  • Varying schedules based on business needs.
