Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores in Temecula, CA is seeking a Retail Cashier / Customer Service Associate. You will greet customers, ring up purchases, stock shelves, and maintain a welcoming store environment.

Starting pay is $17.50–$18.50 per hour. We offer tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 per year, full-time benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Must be 21+, and flexibility for a 24/7 schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ to meet legal age requirements for regulated product sales.
• Stores require flexible availability for a 24/7 operation (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Retail/cashier experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication and a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Team player with initiative and the ability to work independently.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 65 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a warm smile and friendly attitude.
• Deliver a fast, accurate, and professional checkout experience.
• Promote sales, specials, and upsell to enhance customer experience.
• Process transactions accurately, including alcohol and tobacco sales (must meet age requirements).
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including fuel islands.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with fresh, organized products.
• Assist in keeping foodservice and coffee areas clean and stocked.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and labeling procedures.
• Support team members and complete additional duties as assigned.

• Assist in maintaining foodservice and coffee areas, including cleaning and restocking.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and labeling procedures.
• Support team members and complete additional duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Must be 21+ to meet legal age requirements for regulated product sales.
• Our stores require flexible availability for a 24/7 operation (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
• Previous retail, cashier, or customer service experience a plus, but not required.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude.
• A commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
• Quick thinking, adaptable, and dependable.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for an extended period.
• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
