Job Description

Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking an energetic, sports-minded individual to join our customer service team. The position is typically filled by enthusiastic, detail-oriented people with solid customer service backgrounds and/or relevant educational paths. Cashiers are responsible for overseeing the front counter POS (register) terminal. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cash handling, bagging purchased merchandise, greeting customers, answering telephones, directing sales associates using the PA system, stocking shelves, and maintaining displayed merchandise on the sales floor. You will also ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.

Minimum Requirements

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Must possess basic organizational and/or applicable math skills
3. Upon accepting an offer, candidate will be subject to E-Verify
4. Light to moderate lifting may be required, with or without reasonable accommodation
5. Must possess effective interactive and communicative skills

Compensation

California Pay Scale: $16.50 - $19.15/hour depending on store location
