Job summary

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation is seeking a cashier to support our neighborhood store in Ruidoso. You will manage the front counter POS, assist customers, and help maintain a friendly shopping environment.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling calls, guiding sales staff, recommending products, and ensuring accurate cash handling. A flexible, reliable team player is essential for fast-paced days and a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess basic organizational and/or applicable math skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of sporting goods is a plus.
• Upon accepting a position offered, candidate will be subject to E-Verify.
• Light to moderate lifting may be required, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Role Overview

Cashiers play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experience. The primary responsibilities include operating and managing the front counter point-of-sale (POS) system while ensuring asmoothpleasant shopping experience for every customer.
