Job summary

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation is hiring a friendly Cashier to help customers and ensure a smooth, enjoyable shopping experience at our California stores. You will operate and manage the front counter POS system and assist shoppers as they enter and exit.

Key duties include greeting customers, directing sales with the PA system, answering questions, suggesting products, handling cash, keeping the sales floor clean and stocked, and supporting management with additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess basic organizational and/or applicable math skills.
• Detail-oriented and reliable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of sporting goods is a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

Cashiers play a key role in delivering outstanding customer experience. The primary responsibilities include operating and managing the front counter point-of-sale (POS) system while ensuring asmoothpleasant shopping experience for every customer.
