Job Description

Big 5 Sporting Goods is seeking an energetic, sports-minded individual to join our customer service team. The position typically attracts enthusiastic, detail-oriented candidates with strong customer service backgrounds or relevant educational experience. Cashiers are responsible for managing the front counter POS (register) terminal. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cash handling, bagging purchased merchandise, greeting customers, answering telephones, directing sales associates via PA system, stocking shelves, and maintaining the cleanliness and display of merchandise on the sales floor. The goal is to ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.

Minimum Requirements

1. Must be 18 years of age or older
2. Basic organizational and/or math skills
3. Acceptance of E-Verify upon employment
4. Ability to lift light to moderate loads, with or without reasonable accommodation
5. Effective communication and interaction skills

Additional Information

California Pay Scale: $16.50 - $19.15/hour, depending on store location.
