The Retail Cashier (1) is responsible for selling fuel and travel products to customers, providing fast, friendly, and courteous service, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction, and contributing to the operating success of the business unit.

Reporting Relationship

The Retail Cashier (1) shall report directly to the Retail Shift Lead.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verifies the age of individuals purchasing alcohol and tobacco products.
• Handles currency transactions accurately and competently.
• Assists in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
• Informs management of inventory needs.
• Promotes items to increase sales volume.
• Maintains friendliness and courtesy at all times, ensuring excellent customer and employee relations, and adheres to the Dress Code.
• Maintains inventory and replenishes shelves as needed.
• Regularly communicates with management about operational procedures and seeks or offers guidance as needed.
• Ensures compliance with all laws, policies, and procedures related to tobacco products, including Tribal, Federal, and State regulations.
• Maintains a stable, positive background and assumes responsibility.
• Ensures the premises are maintained in a safe and healthy condition.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one (1) year of experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to operate all store equipment and register systems.
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately for documentation.
• Ability to handle merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Stay updated with industry changes and possess adequate computer skills.
• Demonstrate maturity, dependability, and punctuality.
• Perform all aspects of the position successfully.
• Willing to cross-train for all positions as assigned.
• Willing to work odd and irregular hours.
• Possess a valid state driver's license or ID.
• Comply with all other requirements as per CIEDA policies.
• Internal promotion: complete a 90-day probation, work as Retail Cashier (1) for 6 months, get certified in all positional requirements, pass interview, and if a slot is available, be considered for Retail Cashier (2).
